Department of Geology was established in the year 2015 to build the Geologists for the nation. Geologists describe and interpret the processes that form and change our world, with particular emphasis on rock and fossil records. In addition, Geologists discover and manage the natural resources upon which human society depends.
The Department maintains ties with well-known organizations such as the Geological Survey of India, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, National Geophysical Research Institute, Central Ground Water Board, ISRO, BSIP, Agarkar Research Institute, PRL, CESS, CWRDM, IISc.,NIO, NIRM, NIOT, ICMAM, the Directorate of Geology and Mining, other universities and research institutions.
